HALT & HASS Testing

HALT and HASS are relatively new methods of finding design weaknesses that can cause products to fail. These methods are a significant improvement over traditional design testing and production screening techniques, and result in better product reliability and reduced warranty costs.

HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) uses environmental and electrical stimulation during the design phase in order to accelerate design and process maturity. This technique allows more rugged and robust products to be introduced to the market.

HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) methods are used in the production cycle to verify process and design control.
